Snow Day!

Friday we had a snow day and the girls couldn't have been more excited!
The first thing they wanted to do was to go get in the snow.

They did a little sledding and then went to meet up with some friends

who took them to build forts, make an avalanche and more sledding

After they came home we brought in the scooters

and I laid down some bubble wrap so they could ride their
scooters over it.
It sounded like fire crackers going off.

Grace got creative with the scooter

We also used it as a stage

a runway

and for gymnastics

Isabel did the crab walk
(way to participate Bel!)

We drew on the windows with window markers

 rocked out to some music

and through it all, Scooby was a very good boy.
He got groomed by the way.
Doesn't he look all handsome?

Hope you had a great weekend!

Christmas 2011, part two

Over New Years, we went to Nebraska to attend Travis and Kirsten's wedding and celebrate our family Christmas.

The wedding was beautiful and thoughtful,
and full of family and friends

~ ~ ~

and then it was time for presents...

                                                           and wrestling with Uncle Monte...

and Uncle Mark...

Warren was there too.
Ahhh...

I apparently did not get any pictures of Grandma and Grandpa.
Darn it!

Next time.

Our days leading up to Christmas

Christmas Play at school/church
Thanks Grandpa Siffring for making a special trip
out to see it!
We love you!

Game night

Naps...after lots of shopping

Let it snow...

Lunch with friends

Band concert at school
Grace playing her flute
This is her first year and I must say the flute section
did a fabulous job!
Bravo!

Isabel singing "Our God is so big"
using the table as her stage
cracking us up!

Its a family tree

Little People Nativity
all lined up in a row by Isabel.
I think she was lining them up to for Scooby to use
as a hurdle while he chased her through the kitchen,
which he cleared wonderfully.

Chilly Winter Days

Yesterday was cold and the snow was staying around.
 A perfect day for sledding.
Mike and the girls headed out with our neighbors to the nearest hill.

Isabel loved every minute of it and hung in there
without a complaint.

There she goes...

They tried out many different sleds,
with a consensus that the round ones were the fastest.

Did the hill all.by.herself.
without any fear.

Isabel pulling up two sleds.
Girl Power.

Did you sled when you were a kid?
We did.
But always down some huge mountain of a hill
and at the bottom had to hit a jump to
cross a stream.
It always ended in casualties.

Happy Sledding this winter!
