Backyard Adventure

Today, there was something lurking outside.

It was these. Ants. Little ones. All over.

Don't worry, the girls were in charge. This was their territory - the Backyard!

So Isabel got her red bat. She uses it to destroy all things that get in her path.

(Did you ever watch the Flinstones? Can you say Bam-Bam?)
Goodbye ants!

That was our backyard adventure for the day. It kept the girls entertained all afternoon!

The Park

After we dyed Easter eggs on Sunday we went to get ice cream.

She loves her sunglasses!

And then we went to the park. It was a beautiful day out and spring fever must have hit because EVERYONE was at the park. It was fun though!

They had fun going head-first down the slide. They went over and over again.

Even Isabel!

(It was safe - the surface underneath was soft and it wasn't as far for Isabel as it looks in this picture. Really, it was ok!)

We then went to dinner at our favorite pizza place (sorry no pictures), and then called it a night. The girls had a great week off for Spring Break - and so did we!

Easter Eggs

We dyed Easter eggs yesterday.

Isabel's clothes only lasted two seconds.
But she had to keep her shoes on. Funny.

Gracie was so careful and thoughtful with each of her eggs.

Isabel dipped each egg numerous times for a creative color look.
She only smashed four.

Ta da!

Want one?

Spring Break part III

I will post "part II" later when I go through all the pictures.
But for the meantime, here's the end of the trip.

Mike and the girls made their way home today. First, they stopped at North Platte where they got to see the Humpback (the largest train switching yard in the world) from this tower.

Slug bug was played all the way! (I think Gracie won)

Here's Grace at Fort McPherson. She likes to do handstands!

Isabel at the rest stop.

Make sure you wash your hands!
(I know, it's weird that I am posting pictures of my children in the Rest Area. I know, but they are just so cute!!)

Then "Bob" drove the rest of the way home.
It is so good to finally have them home! Hope your having a great weekend!

All creation groans

It peaks out through the snow. Growing towards the sun searching for it's Creator. It blooms for the Creator and for the Creator's pleasure. It knows nothing else, but it's Creator. And it lives to please Him. It groans for Him.

" For we know that the whole creation groans..." Roamans 8:22

Spring Break part I

The girls left yesterday to go to Nebraska with their Daddy for a few days.

Gracie in the car. She is such a good traveler and always has been. You can tell she really likes it and with her sense of adventure, I think she will have lots of fun in her life. (I love her dimples!!)

They made lots of stops including this one at Great Grandma and Grandpa Discoe's grave.

And this one at the Overland Trail where you can still see wagon wheel tracks from the settlers. It was one of the main trails that brought settler's out west.

Mike also took them through the town where he grew up and showed them his old house, school and places like that. Good stuff.

Hope your Spring Break is treating you well!

Tea

Learning the art of being graceful and gracious.

"as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious." I Peter 2:2-3.

Random thoughts

This wistle has been blown all day. First she was a lifeguard, then a police officer, then just randomly blown at anything that was not being done right or out of the ordinary. Please help! My ears can't take it anymore!

This laundry was sitting in the basket, ready to be taken down to the laundry room. The next thing I know it had been, piece by piece, thrown onto the floor - all over. I called the girls in and asked them to pick it up and put it back into the basket. I then went into the kitchen to make lunch to which I heard the girls singing, as they picked up clothes, "It's a hard- knocks life for us! It's a hard-knocks life for us!" Straight from Annie. I laughed.

Great day for a swing! Tonight snow.

Pizza and ...?

Yesterday, Grace and I went to a production called Celtic Steps where they dance like "Riverdance". Our friends' daughter was in it and she was great! We then headed over to get pizza at a place nearby. When we got to our booth there was something very cool!

Can you guess what it was?

It was this....

a T.V. playing kids shows. Whoa! No way!

Pizza and T.V.? Way cool!

Then we went to get ice cream for the long drive home. We had a great time!
