the painter

"Do you want to paint?"
"Yes! Yes! Yes!"  was her enthusiastic reply.
"Can I use these?" she aked while holding up her hands.
"Sure."
We took it outside.

I tried not to let the mess bother me.  Oh my!
Ummm... I tried not to let it show that the mess bothered me.
It's just paint right?

She enjoyed it.
Mess'n'all!

funny things said

I wrote down a few things the kiddos said this summer that made me laugh.  Here are a few:

G,   "ISABEL DON'T STICK YOUR HEAD IN THE TOILET!"

I,     "Mommy, can I have a sleepover tomorrow with Master Yoda?"

G,    "Mom you are interrupting my peace and joy."

I,     "Mommy, can I go to da American Girl Doll Stow?  I have sum pennies?"  (If only it cost pennies!)

G,   "THIS CAMPFIRE SMELLS SOOOOOO GOOD!" (at the top of her lungs!)

G,    "Praise the Lord God Almighty!" (I heard this many times, all summer long, with a true southern preacher style accent)

One day I asked Isabel, "What street do we live on?"    She answered immediately "Ice Cream Man Street!"

They make me smile!  And I wish I would have wrote down more!
 Maybe next summer.
Ahh..... summer.  It is almost over!

Grace's 8th Birthday

I love you more than chocolate, more than air, more than the sky.
I love your creativity, your compassion.
I love your sense of adventure and the way you persevere when the going gets tough.
I love watching home shows with you snuggled up close.
I love your goodnight kisses and the way your eyes light up at the thought of fun.
You are my joy and you truly are amazing.

Happy Birthday Grace!

Baseball Game

I like to go to baseball games in the summer.  There's just something about it.  The slow pace.  The hotdogs.  The conversation.  The beautiful field.  The family atmosphere and people of all ages.  And if you get the chance to go to an evening game and watch the sunset, and the sky display all its brilliant colors, and feel the crispness creep into the air all while watching the game, ahhh... nothin like it.

Today Mike took Grace and Ainsley.

The girls outside the stadium

Their view

At the end of the game.
These girls were troopers!
Hot and tired.

It was really hot and then the clouds rolled in.  Whew!
We got Rock Pile tickets for the first time.  All three tickets were $6!!!
I love baseball in the summer (did I already say that?).

My Birthday

We went here for the weekend

Pretty.
Looks a bit like a "Paint By Numbers" doesn't it?

I love these chairs.
We take a picture in them every year.

Isabel sat on Mike's lap all the way up the mountain on the chair lift and back down.
I couldn't watch.

.

We had a great time!
Look forward to it again next year.
