Summer Fun

Yesterday we played in the park with friends and when we got home the girls were instantly bored.
I told them to go get their swimsuits on and meet me out back.
They were in suspense.  Why?  Why?  Why?

I put out three cans of this.

I sprayed some on the table and handed it to them.

They didn't know what to do with it at first.

It only took a few minutes until this....

and this....

and then they headed over to the slip-n-slide for some real fun!

Great fun on a hot summer day!

Birds?

We went to the pet store the other day to buy some more fish. 
And came home with these....

Birds.

Birds?  Wait.  How did that happen?

I don't know. 

One minute we were looking for fish, the next we were buying birds.

They are sweet peaceful cuties.

They let Gracie pet them.

Emma likes them too.

Really.

She sits by their cage and purrrs.

The girls love them!

I guess we'll keep them.

Earrings!

Yesterday, I suprised Gracie and let her get her ears pierced.
We were waiting for her 8th birthday, but I suprised her and took her three weeks early.

On the way there.  She was so excited (and a little scared).

It went quickly.

This is right after. 

Still a little nervous from the pain.

Not enough to cry.

She said it was like getting an indian burn and 

that it didn't hurt as much as she thought.

Roller Girl

We got some rollerblades from the thrift store the other day for Grace.
She begged to put them on, but I wouldn't let her until I got some wrist guards.
(I still remember the rasberry I incurred on my first rollerblade attempt when I was... well a long time ago.)

All I kept thinking was, "Is this a good idea?"

Of course it was.

She loved it.

It was fun.

Adventure makes her light up inside.

And what an incredible light she is.
